This book seems different compared to all the other Ranger's Apprentice books because normally, the rangers all work together to defeat their enemy. But this time, Will has to survive in Arrida alone, without Halt and he is almost ready to become a full-fledged Ranger. Tug gets lost in a windstorm, and Will gets lost while trying to find him. He is just about to die from dehydration when salvation comes. The leader of a tribe in Arrida finds him, and he is brought to the tribe’s camp. But he must meet up with Halt’s party, but a danger is found, and Will, with his newly reclaimed horse, wants to go after them…I would recommend this book for kids 9 and up, and I would rate it 4.5 out of 5 stars. As you get older you might lose interest in this book, especially after reading it multiple times.
